Earth and Sky : A Foothills Journey
The foothills that stretch from the Red Deer River in Alberta south to the Rocky Mountain Front of Montana are one of my favorite places on earth. Starting with a hike on Powderface Ridge in the spring of 1994, I’ve spent nearly two decades exploring this region. The photograph’s in this gallery are from a series I compiled with the hope to publish a book called Earth and Sky: A Foothills Journey. Images from The Two-Medicine River, The Blackfeet Reservation, The Castle Special Place, The Whaleback, Kananaskis Country, Ya Ha Tinda Ranch and points in between, these images are a mixture of pics digitized on my flatbed scanner from the original 35mm slides (so they aren’t as sharp as the originals) and material I’m currently shooting with a Nikon D-80.
